10 Album Thing Day 1: Erasure "The Innocents"
Erasure The Innocents was introduced to me by sister Stacy. It was the first album I listened to on endless repeat. I found it by turns energizing, haunting, melancholy, and joyous. Sure, “Chains of Love” and “A Little Respect” stand the test of time, but I found myself endlessly curious about the characters in “Ship of Fools” and filled up by the generic religiosity of “Yahoo!” The payoff of a lifetime of Erasure was seeing them in a small club in San Francisco in ‘05, jumping up and down like mad with 500 of my best friends to hear “Drama!”
I went on an Erasure album spree for years, looking for every single and EP I could find (and they have SOOO many).
For you youngins, this was before you could buy things on them interwebs and just had to walk into every record store you saw. A record store is a place that sells music in a format known as "CDs," "tapes," and "vinyl." A "CD" is a compact disc....
Oh nevermind, just go look it up on Wikipedia.
