MOURNER’S KADDISH (2020)

When setting the Mourner’s Kaddish, I thought about what I wanted to communicate with a text that’s rarely, if ever, set to music. The Ab that gets repeated in the bass is that mortal ending we all share. No matter how the bass line strives to rise, it is inevitably pulled back down.
