TRUE LOVE WARS (2021)

As a long time Erasure fan, one of my favorites is a random B-side called “True Love Wars.” An upbeat dance tune, its gentle vocals and major key inflection soften the desperation in the lyrics. I wanted to bring out that desperation and reveal a little bit of the anger and despair that lurks beneath the words. So I turned it into a Green Day-style pop-punk tune (I mean — what else?).
